New Passenger Battery-operated Bus Route to Be Set up in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- New passenger battery bus routes are increasing every year in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.

According to Minju Joson, a new passenger battery-operated bus route will be set up in the section from Pyongyang Railway Station to Jonjin-dong in Rangnang District this year.

The Pyongyang Municipal General Passenger Service Enterprise, in close contact with relevant sectors and units, has given precedence to designing and preparation of construction forces, resolving problems such as supply of necessary materials and accessories to help push ahead with the production of battery-operated buses and the construction of the Jonjin Battery-operated Bus Station.

The Pyongyang Trolley Bus Factory has made successes in manufacturing new battery-operated buses. It is pushing ahead with converting trolley buses into battery-based ones.

The Nano Engineering Branch of the State Academy of Sciences is ensuring the supply of necessary batteries. -0-
