Innovations in Light Industrial Sector

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the light industrial sector of the DPRK are making innovations.

The Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill improved the performance of automatic reeling machines to increase productivity, and installed new automatic devices in cocoon boiling machines to reduce waste of cocoons.

The Pyongyang Essential Oil Factory is developing new essential oil needed for the production of goods at city and county light industrial factories. The research group of its essential oil institute has developed various industrial and edible essential oil with locally available raw materials by finding out feasible ingredients and fixing their mixing ratio.

The Sariwon Textile Mill has introduced an efficient power-saving technology after manufacturing new electric boilers. And the Taesongsan Spring Water Factory has made successes in modernizing the production lines.

The Nampho Municipal Condiments Factory is developing new products and improving their quality. -0-
