Intensive Workshop for Officials in Construction Sector-2026 Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 18 (KCNA) -- The intensive workshop of officials in the construction sector-2026 took place in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, from September 13 to 17.

Present there were officials and commanding officers of the units in charge of major construction projects, officials in charge of designing, construction, building materials production and supervision, officials of the Cabinet, the Ministry of Construction and Building-Materials Industry, the Ministry of State Construction Control, the State General Bureau of Design and the Pyongyang Construction Commission, and officials of relevant departments of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Kim Jong Gwan, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, made an opening address.

The speaker noted that respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth at the historic Ninth WPK Congress the important task of consolidating the foundation for strengthened national power, leading the people to a new civilization and promoting their wellbeing by continuing the construction campaign during the period of implementing the new long-term plan, too, and made sure that a decision on modernizing the coal-mine villages across the country was adopted at the Second Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the Party.

Expressing the belief that the intensive workshop would offer an occasion for making a fresh turn in the work of officials in the construction sector to uphold the Party's Juche-oriented idea on architecture and construction policy with their high political consciousness and professional qualifications as the core and pivot of the revolution in construction of the new era, he declared the opening of the workshop.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un's instructions on the work of the construction sector were courteously conveyed to the audiences.

Then lectures were given.

The workshop first dealt with the need for the officials to be well aware of the requirements of the Party policy, set forth for the construction sector, and thoroughly meet them.

Referring to the issues arising in successfully implementing the Party policy on optimizing the architectural designs, the workshop mentioned its significance and importance and the ways of ensuring the maximum economic effectiveness and profitability in producing architectural designs.

Attracting the attention of the participants were the lectures which explained, on the basis of the experience whose advantages and benefits have been proven in practice, the issue of applying pre-fab building methods to the construction of dwelling houses, an important issue arising in the qualitative construction of framework buildings and the issues of finishing building work and road construction.

Lectures underlined the need for the officials and commanding officers in the construction sector to fulfill their responsibility in the work for taking precautionary measures for labour safety at the construction sites, and for the officials in the construction inspection organs to do their bit on principle and in a scientific way.

The participants watched a video dealing with efficient and advanced construction methods, building materials, modern construction equipment and tools. They also made a field survey and engaged in a question-and-answer session at the Leisure Complex under construction in Kangnam County. This helped the officials in the construction sector broaden their knowledge and improve their professional qualifications.

Through the intensive workshop, the participants armed themselves more firmly with the Party's Juche-oriented architectural idea and construction policy and acquired new and wide-ranging technical knowledge, essential methodologies and best ways for pushing ahead with the grand construction campaign in the era of comprehensive development. They renewed their resolve to fulfill their responsibility and duty in the vanguard of the construction revolution as intended by the Party Central Committee. -0-
