Enlarged Plenary Meeting of C.C., SWUK
Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- There took place an enlarged meeting of the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea (SWUK) on August 6.
Members and alternate members of the C.C., SWUK attended the meeting. Present as observers were union officials from Pyongyang and local areas.
The enlarged meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the tasks set forth in the congratulatory letter sent by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the participants in the Eighth SWUK Congress and all other women's union members.
First of all, the congratulatory letter of the WPK Central Committee was read out at the meeting.
Then resolution-taking speeches were made.
The meeting raised a draft decision reflecting the practical issues for steadily maintaining the high patriotic enthusiasm of the women's union officials and members and encouraging them to turn out in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress, and had a discussion on it.
It discussed in depth the issues for making the women's union members defend our social system and life and lead the proper growth of the new generation with patriotic spirit of dedicating themselves to the state affairs, sound moral traits and high cultural attainments.
It stressed the need for the women's union officials to become patriots and communist mothers with revolutionary and noble personality and qualifications as educators and to be skilled political activists who are able to work with full understanding of the mentality of union members and inspire them by setting practical examples.
The meeting adopted a relevant decision on the basis of the study and discussion of its draft. -0-
