Legends of Love to Be Conveyed Long along with History of Great War Victory

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- All the people of the DPRK are recollecting with deep emotion the legendary tales about the great man, recorded in the history of the great war victory, on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The stories about the great love and benevolence shown by President Kim Il Sung for the brave soldiers of the People's Army and people during his ceaseless visits to the front and the rear during the Fatherland Liberation War, are conveyed long along with July 27 of heroic Korea.

One day in May 1951, the President called a commanding officer of the People's Army and instructed him to establish a frontline recreation camp for service personnel as the war was protracted.

At the camp born under the warm care of the peerlessly great man, there took place a front-line musical instrument concert and colorful sports and amusement games of service personnel such as Korean wrestling and chess. They returned to the front after recovering their health and performed great feats in the do-or-die battles against the enemy.

The President paid deep attention to health and living conditions of the people in the rear despite the harsh circumstances of the war.

In his concluding speech, "Some Tasks of Stabilizing the People's Livelihood in Wartime", made at a meeting of the Political Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in January 1951, the President clarified the immediate task to be fulfilled in overcoming the tendency of remaining indifferent to the people's living conditions in a wartime environment, and then made sure that Cabinet Decision No. 197 for stabilizing the wartime people's living was adopted.

The Cabinet decisions on exemption of agricultural tax in kind and state grain loan and improvement of living conditions of poor peasants and fishermen and the popular policies enforced one after another show the noble traits of the President who always considered the people.

Always finding himself among the soldiers and people fighting during the days of the fierce war, the President instilled the firm confidence in victory and matchless courage into them with his boundless love and trust. His energetic leadership was the main source of the miraculous victory in the war. -0-
