Young People in DPRK Volunteer for Major Worksites of Socialist Construction
Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Many young people in North Phyongan Province of the DPRK volunteered for major worksites of socialist construction.
Discharged soldiers in Jongju City, Kwaksan, Thaechon and Kujang counties requested the youth league organizations to send them to difficult and labor-consuming fields, pledging to play a vanguard and core role in the effort for carrying out the new five-year plan.
Youths in Changsong, Yomju and Unsan counties went to the countryside.
Those in Tongnim, Tongchang, Sonchon, Nyongbyon, Phihyon and Taegwan counties volunteered for the county construction brigades in their regions.
Many young people in the province, too, went to the raw materials base stations.
A meeting was held on July 5 to congratulate the volunteers.
At the meeting attended by Yang Myong Chol, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, youth league officials and youth and students, petition certificates were awarded to the volunteers and a congratulatory address and resolution-taking speeches were made.
Officials, youth and students presented bouquets to the volunteers and saw them off. -0-
