Efforts Concentrated on Cultivation of Potato

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- Agricultural workers in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK are striving to produce high and safe yields despite the disastrous abnormal weather.

Researchers of the provincial agricultural science institute have been active at farms to inform agricultural workers of the methods of producing and using nutrient adjuvant and photosynthetic accelerants, which can be easily made with locally available raw materials, and disseminate the necessary scientific and technological issues.

Farms in the province are giving precedence to furrowing of potato fields and regularly spraying plant nutrients and growth regulators to eliminate the stratification of crops.

They increase the production of germs good for improving fertility of soil and carbonated self-sufficing manure effective for the growth of crops, applying manure to fields as required by technical regulations and preventing the occurrence of potato blight with substitute agrochemicals produced by themselves.

They installed more light traps and observation posts in fields and applied effective extermination methods suited to their actual conditions.

The farms are concentrating efforts on increasing the per-hectare yield while sprinkling nutrient adjuvant and photosynthetic accelerant in keeping with weather conditions. -0-
