Efforts Directed to Functional Vegetable Production

Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm in the DPRK contributes to improving the people's diet by putting the production of functional vegetables on a scientific and intensive basis.

The farm has cultivated cucumber, broccoli, cabbage and other highly nutritious functional vegetables.

Proper thinning, foliar nutritional care and advanced space-saving technology result in increased production.

Cultivation of high-yielding tomato seedlings was put on a scientific basis to drastically increase the proportion of fruit vegetable production, alongside the efforts for ensuring appropriate temperature, humidity and nutritional care of vegetables. This brings good results in every greenhouse.

The farm sends fresh vegetables to commercial service facilities in Sinuiju City on a regular basis. On-going collective innovations boost the production of tasty and nutritious functional vegetables. -0-
