18th Pyongyang Autumn International Trade Fair Opens in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The 18th Pyongyang Autumn International Trade Fair opened with due ceremony at the Central Youth Hall in the DPRK on October 26.

"Common development and prosperity" is the theme of the trade fair.

On display at the hall are at least 10 000 modern products, including electronics products, machines, building materials, medicines, light industrial goods, foodstuffs and daily necessities of more than 1 000 kinds, produced by over 130 enterprises and companies of the DPRK, China, Mongolia, Bangladesh and Thailand, such as Korean Kaesong Koryo Insam Trading Company, Paekunsan General Foodstuff Factory and Songdowon General Foodstuff Factory, with advanced science and technology.

Present at the ceremony were Yun Jong Ho, minister of External Economic Relations of the DPRK, officials concerned and officials from exhibitors.

Yun Jong Ho said in his address to the ceremony that it is the consistent external economic policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to expand external economic relations with different countries and regions of the world on the principle of complete equality and reciprocity and continue developing the bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Expressing belief that the trade fair would be successful thanks to the positive efforts of the participants, he declared the opening of the fair. -0-
