Anniversary of Tanchon Mining Industry Construction Complex Marked

Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- The Tanchon Mining Industry Construction Complex in the DPRK is greeting its 50th founding anniversary.

Under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, the complex has won fame as a reliable industrial construction unit which plays an important role in the development of the country's mining industry.

President Kim Il Sung made sure that the Tanchon Mining Industry Construction Complex was founded in August 1976, formed a powerful construction force and a technical group and took measures to supply equipment and materials to it.

Chairman Kim Jong Il indicated the orientation and ways for the complex to follow and entrusted it with major construction projects and led it to play a vanguard role in implementing the Party's policies.

The complex is going on its triumphant journey under the guidance of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has shown deep trust in the workers so that they can take the lead in the struggle to implement the decisions of the Party Congress.

Its workers, technicians and officials have devoted themselves to implementing the Party's policy on capital construction over the past 50 years.

The complex successfully carried out many major construction projects, including the construction of a large long-range conveyor belt and the dressing plant No. 3 at the Komdok Mining Complex, the Tanchon Smeltery and the gasification project at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.

It also invented and introduced rational construction methods for ensuring the construction quality at a high level while saving manpower and materials to implement the tasks for major construction projects entrusted by the Party. -0-
