Hundreds of Hectares of New Grazing Lands Secured in Jagang Province of DPRK

Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- According to Rodong Sinmun, Jagang Province in the DPRK has secured more than 900 hectares of grazing lands for the first-stage project of this year and finished seeding. It is now creating hundreds of hectares of grass fields on the Sadok Plateau.

The province discussed the issues arising in raising grass-eating domestic animals on a large scale in cities, counties, institutions, industrial establishments and individual households, securing high-yielding breeds of domestic animals, building model stockbreeding farms in cities and counties and taking measures to turn Ryongnim and Rangnim counties into ones specializing in animal husbandry. On this basis, the province is pushing ahead with the work to implement them.

The province held a demonstration at the Mudok Stockbreeding Farm in Janggang County, which is getting benefits from its own grass fields, and generalized its experience.

Now officials and working people in the province are devoting their wisdom and enthusiasm to creating a model of animal husbandry production by grass-eating domestic animals. -0-
