New Hydro-power Station Construction Starts in Jagang Province of DPRK
Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- The construction of a new hydro-power station began in Janggang County, Jagang Province of the DPRK.
The high-capacity hydro-power station producing electricity with water from Lake Rangnim will serve as another material and technical foundation for providing electricity necessary for the economic development of the province and the improvement of people's standard of living.
Present at its ground-breaking ceremony on Sept. 11 were Pak Song Chol, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, builders and working people.
Sin Chang Gil, chairman of the provincial people's committee, addressed the ceremony to be followed by speeches.
A blasting signaled the start of construction. -0-
