Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt Paektu

Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Officials and primary officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea from across the DPRK made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from August 21 to 27.

Among their destinations were the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs, and Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site.

They visited the secret camp on Mt Paektu.

At the headquarters log cabin used by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they looked back on the noble revolutionary careers of the President and the Chairman who performed immortal exploits for the country and people, the era and history.

They climbed the top of Mt Paektu, a sacred mountain of revolution. Looking over the panoramic view of the sacred peaks of the mountain which represents the spirit of Korea and its ranges, they hardened their faith and will to go along the road of loyalty to the last, following the great Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee.

A resolution-taking meeting of the UAWK officials and primary officials was held at the plaza before the statue of Chairman Kim Jong Il in the city of Samjiyon.

Present there were Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, officials concerned, union officials and those making the study tour.

During the study tour, the UAWK officials and primary officials conducted political and cultural activities such as meetings to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, question-and-answer study contests, and contests of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array, and visited various places of Samjiyon City, a modern mountain city. -0-
