Japan's Overseas Aggression Is Not Fiction but Reality: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Japan, keen on bolstering up its military capabilities for overseas aggression, has shown another dangerous behavior, raising serious concern from region and international community.

Shortly ago, the Japanese government began examining a plan to develop and introduce on a full scale an unmanned submarine capable of attacking a warship under the pretext of "tightened defence system in the Pacific Ocean".

The said submarine Japan seeks to possess is said to be capable of sailing long distance for a long time with torpedoes or mines loaded.

If this plan is realized, Japan will have a condition to hide invisible "re-aggression monsters". In other words, Japan seeks to hide such attack means as unmanned submarines near the shores of the DPRK and other neighboring countries and make preemptive strike at the warships of its opponent countries in contingency and thus escalate the flames of aggression.

This is a grave situation showing that Japan has openly withdrawn from the oft-repeated "exclusive defence".

In fact, Japan's military muscle has rapidly evolved into a form of attack and aggression, not "defence" in recent years.

It has mass-produced home-made long-range missiles which can be launched from different spheres, including ground-launched, submarine-launched and warship-launched ones, and stepped up the research and development of new-type ballistic missiles with a range of 3 000 km. It is also speeding up the introduction of two kinds of foreign-made missiles including U.S.-made cruise missile Tomahawk.

In March, Japan deployed improved versions of type 12 surface-to-ship guided missiles with drastic increase in range and type 25 high-speed gliding projectiles flying at supersonic speed at high altitude in Kumamoto and Shizuoka prefectures respectively for the first time in the country. Recently, it deployed the launcher of type 12 surface-to-ship guided missiles and a reconnaissance drone for confirming the target position on its island in the Pacific Ocean.

Japan's military muscle is now being turned into a forward-deployment and actual war-deployment type so that it can carry out a war at any moment.

Moreover, Japan introduced a lot of Israeli weapons and equipment after the outbreak of crisis in the Gaza Strip. This shows that its "Self-Defence Forces" are armed with notorious lethal equipment whose practicality has been verified in actual war.

Its rapid acquisition and deployment of preemptive attack and long-range strike means and its mass purchase of lethal weapons actually used in modern warfare go to prove once again that it is not an imagination but a stark reality for Japan to embark on the road of continental aggression.

In other words, the Japanese aggression forces have already slipped the "safety catch" and what remains to be done is to pull the trigger toward the goal of reinvasion. It is as clear as noonday what the result will be.

Those who fail to draw lessons from the past will surely repeat their faults.

If Japan, a war criminal state and a defeated nation, makes a revanchist option of overseas aggression, the future of this island country will surely come to an end. -0-
