Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Receives Greetings from Lao President

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, on Wednesday received a message of greeting from Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The message said:

Dear Comrade Kim Jong Un,

I extend warm congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and all the Lao people and on my own behalf to you and, through you, to the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and all the fraternal Korean people on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

I am very pleased over the fact that over the past 78 years the fraternal Korean people have achieved comprehensive and great successes in their work to firmly defend the country, develop the economy and steadily improve the people’s living standards by waging a vigorous struggle for national defence and development under the wise leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

With great satisfaction over the fact that the traditional relations of friendship between the LPDR and the DPRK have steadily developed over the past years, I am firmly convinced that the long-standing good relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will grow stronger thanks to the joint efforts of both sides, thus bringing substantial benefits to the peoples of the two countries and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development of the region and the world.
