Party and Government Delegation of PRC Lays Flower Basket at Friendship Tower

Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- A party and government delegation of the People's Republic of China led by Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, laid a flower basket at the Friendship Tower on July 15.

Present there were Kim Hyong Sik, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Mun Song Hyok, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Myong Su, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and members of his embassy.

The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up there.

The national anthems of the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were played.

The flower basket in the name of the delegation was placed before the tower.

Written on the ribbon of the flower basket were letters reading "The martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers will be immortal".

The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers who bravely fought against the aggression of the imperialist allied forces and went round the tower.

Wang Huning wrote in the visitor's book the letters "Let Us Glorify the Traditional Friendship by Inheriting the Intention of Martyrs". -0-
