Concert Given by National Symphony Orchestra to Mark Its 80th Birthday
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- The National Symphony Orchestra of the DPRK, founded as the first orchestra in a new Korea, marked its 80th founding anniversary with high pride. A concert was given at the Moranbong Theatre on Saturday to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the National Symphony Orchestra, a national-level art institution embodying the development of Juche-oriented music.
Among the audience were senior Party and government officials and officials, creators and artistes in the field of culture and arts.
The concert began with orchestral prelude for the piano "Glory to the Workers' Party of Korea". Put on the stage were famous songs of the times, songs praising the Workers' Party and songs about the motherland which gave great impetus to the victorious advance of socialist Korea.
All the art pieces made the audience recollect the proud history of the orchestra, which has elevated noble patriotism and promoted the spiritual and cultural growth while sharing its history with the struggle of the people who have brought great social changes under the leadership of the Party. They also aroused the admiration of the audience for matured performance.
The orchestra "selection of world famous songs" decorated the end of the concert with splendor.
The concert, representing a profound musical world with the solemn and peculiar mixed orchestra of Korean style, showed the ardent aspiration and creative world of creators and artistes who will steadily write the history of honorable development of Juche-oriented symphony through ceaseless pioneering and advance, by remaining invariably faithful to the real intention and original mission of the foundation despite the passage of time.
