Swimming Contest Held

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- A swimming contest among central-level universities in the capital city of Pyongyang was held at the swimming pool of Kim Il Sung University on September 8 to mark the 78th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Among the spectators were Sin Yong Il, Ju Chang Il and Kim Sung Du, secretaries of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and other senior Party and government officials, officials of the Cabinet, commissions, ministries, national agencies and armed forces organs and teaching staff and students of universities in the city.

The swimming contest brought together players selected from central-level universities in the city. It was held, divided into men's and women's 100-meter freestyle and breaststroke swimming events and medley relay.

Kim Il Sung University came first in total.

Relevant prizes were conferred on the teams that proved successful. -0-
