Performance Marks WPK's Birthday

Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- A performance "We sing of the great motherly Party" was given by the workers' artistic information team of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and winners of the vocal solo and recital contest at the Central Hall of Workers on October 8 in celebration of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Among the audience were Chairman Ri Won Jong and officials of the C.C., General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK), officials concerned, and trade union officials and members and workers in Pyongyang.

The performers highly praised the immortal feats of the great Workers' Party of Korea which ushered in a new era of independence and is opening up a beautiful and bright future on this land.

A male solo "Care of My Destiny" and an accordion trio "Our Dear Marshal" reflected the great pride and self-confidence of the working people living a happy life under the loving care of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who regards selfless, devoted service for the people as the noble political ideal of the Party and unfolds the great people-first politics.

When the atmosphere of the performance reached its climax, the venue resounded with the recitation of a choral poem "Lifeblood of Our Working Class" which reflected the pledge of faith of the heroic working class determined to fully demonstrate their honor as the core unit and main force of socialist construction, regarding the tender-hearted father's love and trust as the most valuable asset of their lives.

The performance ended with the chorus "Long Live the Workers' Party of Korea". -0-
