Wartime Artistes Encouraging Fighting Army and People

Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- The brilliant victory in the past Fatherland Liberation War unprecedented in history is associated with the proud feats performed by creators and artistes in the field of art and literature who aroused the service personnel and people to the sacred war for defending the country and annihilating the enemies through their positive wartime artistic activities.

The creators and artistes, who heard the historic radio speech "Go All Out for Victory in the War" made by President Kim Il Sung, pledged to dynamically conduct artistic activities on the battlefields under the shower of bullets and shells, and presented to the President a petition reflecting their firm pledge to go to the front.

The President noted that it was a very pleasant and good thing for the writers to follow the army, adding that it was an expression of their bitter hatred towards the U.S. imperialists and ardent love for the country. Then he gave them credentials bearing his august name. With such great trust, the artistes began their first frontline performance in Seoul, liberated just three days after the outbreak of the war.

The wartime artistes gave performances, despite the loud sound of enemy warships and aircraft bombardments, and created militant poems and songs. Thanks to their activities, many literary works were produced to vividly reflect the appearances of the guards units annihilating the enemy in fierce battles, service personnel of the People's Army shouting hurrah on the victorious heights, and the working class and other people who ensured wartime production by turning machine belts with their hands.

The great feats performed by the wartime artistes on the battlefields decisive of life and death during the days of the hard-fought war were etched in the history of war victory in Juche Korea, thus eternally conveying the great heroic spirit of the victorious wartime generation. -0-
