World Tourism Day Marked

Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- It is World Tourism Day set by the World Tourism Organization.

The DPRK became a member of the organization in September 1987. And it has built many tourist resorts and cultural recreation centers in famous mountains and scenic spots across the country under the guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea to provide the citizens with a rich and civilized life.

Along with the daily-developing tourism, all the people in the country are recalling the warm love and devoted and efforts of the peerlessly great men who ushered in an era of cultural efflorescence under socialism.

President Kim Il Sung unfolded a grand blueprint for sprucing up the pleasure grounds and tourist resorts for the people's wellbeing and took measures to successfully settle the problems arising in tourism.

Chairman Kim Jong Il ensured that the scenic spots are turned into recreation ground and tourist resort and made painstaking efforts to provide material and technical foundation for tourism.

Respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un clarified the principled issues arising in expanding the country's tourism such as the development on a large scale of tourist resorts and the arrangement of adequate service facilities there.

He ensured that the natural and geographical advantages and natural resources of each region were used effectively for tourism and economic and practical and legal follow-up measures taken to this end.

As a result, Myongsasimni on the east coast of the country was turned into a coastal tourist town with perfect service conditions at the highest level and the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort and other recreation centers built wonderfully in keeping with the requirements of the new era. Those tourist resorts are now crowed with working citizens from all walks of life and schoolchildren spending a pleasant time. -0-
