Agro-technical Steps Taken to Cope with Changing Weather
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- Farms in Nampho Municipality of the DPRK are taking technical measures to cope with the changing weather conditions.
To minimize the high-temperature damage, the Nampho Municipal Rural Economy Committee has ensured that the farms in the municipality lower temperature of soil through short watering and irrigation of manner of saturation.
The farms have applied various nutrient adjuvants and germicidal agents to boost the ripening rate and thousand-kernel weight of rice.
They are also digging ditches deep in flat fields and clearing out the waterways in order to prevent the dry-field crops from being damaged by moisture.
They are checking and repairing the draining gates well with the aim of protecting the crops from possible torrential rain, heavy rain and strong wind. -0-
