Winter Wheat and Barley Seeding Begins in Farms of DPRK

Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers in the DPRK have entered into seeding of winter wheat and barley.

South Hwanghae Province increased the sown area by more than 1 000 hectares as against last year. It is now conducting the seeding as scheduled while applying a large quantity of organic fertilizers to every field and carrying on the preceding processes in a foresighted way.

North Hwanghae Province selected wheat cultivation areas properly and rationally allocated manpower and means to achieve success. The agricultural workers in North Phyongan Province are strictly keeping the technical requirements in seeding.

Jagang, Kangwon and North Hamgyong provinces worked out sowing plans in a realistic way and have taken detailed account of the biological characteristics of varieties and soil tilt to plant seeds in large areas every day. -0-
