Urban Management and Ecological Environment Protection in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Municipality directs efforts to the urban management and ecological environment protection.

Senior officials of the municipality and districts are carrying out scientific and innovative tasks while attaching a vital importance to the urban management and ecological environment protection.

The relevant regions and units have taken steps to ensure the normal operation and management of multi-functional snowplows and cleaning cars provided under the care of the Party and make them prove effective in road management.

Thanks to the efforts of officials and working people, road pavement and sidewalk repair projects extending more than 300 000 square meters were carried out this year to ensure better traffic convenience for cars and citizens.

The municipality completed the dredging and building of retaining walls in the Jangsan small river and improved the environment of promenade. And it is taking sci-tech measures to further improve the water quality of the river.

Hyongjesan District has carried out the projects for remodeling and repairing commercial service networks and public buildings. Ryongsong, Pothonggang and other districts are making successes in urban management and ecological environment protection. -0-
