Progress Made in Operation of Regional-industry Factories

Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK strives to increase the productivity at raw materials bases for regional-industry factories.

The province has organized a demonstration and a passing-on technique on cultivation of sugar and oil crops to raise the working people's zeal for scientific farming.

Unpha and Yonthan counties have taken an agro-technical step to raise the per-hectare yield of sweet potato while introducing the achievements and experience of advanced units.

Pongsan and Sinphyong counties have pushed forward the introduction of high-yielding varieties with high sugar and oil contents, while doing the overall farming work in a scientific and technological way to increase the productivity per area under cultivation.

Employees of the Hwangju County Materials Base Station are directing big efforts to the cultivation of industrial crops, while acquiring advanced agricultural science and technology.

Koksan and Thosan counties extended the area under cultivation of sugarcane and sugar beet and raised the proportion of mechanized farming.

Yonsan, Suan and Sungho counties, too, are striving to have a rich harvest. -0-
