Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Following are major news items and articles in leading newspapers of the DPRK on Tuesday:

- Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un received flower baskets from heads of state of different countries.

- He also received flower baskets and congratulatory letters from foreign diplomatic envoys and military attaches corps here and foreign personages.

- Foreign organizations and personages and families of persons related to the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung sent flower baskets to the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill.

- Achievements have been made in different economic sectors and units of the country.

- Working people's organizations held meetings on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

- An inauguration ceremony of the Tuman River Motor Bridge named after Yakov Nobichenko, an officer of the Red Army and internationalist soldier, was held.
