Kumsong University of Politics Marks Its 80th Founding Anniversary

Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held on November 4 to mark the 80th founding anniversary of Kumsong University of Politics.

Present there were Kim Sung Du, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, senior officials of working people's organizations, and officials, teaching staff and students of the university.

Kim Myong Guk, rector of Kumsong University of Politics, made a commemorative report.

The reporter noted that President Kim Il Sung, who saw to it that the Central Youth Cadres Training School, the predecessor of the university, was founded on November 5, 1946, gave detailed instructions on the tasks for strengthening the university work in each period and at each stage of the developing revolution.

Chairman Kim Jong Il made sure that the university was renamed Kumsong University of Politics, and indicated in detail the tasks and ways for the university to faithfully fulfill its role as a base for training officials of working people's organizations and energetically led the university work, the reporter said.

He said that the original idea and theory of respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who newly clarified the orientation and ways for training cadres of the working people's organizations as required by the modeling of the entire Party and the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, serve as important guidelines for the university to fulfill its mission and duty before the times and the revolution with a clear strategy for development.

He referred to the fact that the university has covered the proud path under the care of the peerlessly great men over the past 80 years, true to its mission as a reliable cadre-training base of the Party.

The reporter called upon all the officials, teaching staff and students of the university to fully discharge their responsibility and duty, cherishing the deep trust and expectation of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and thus make a positive contribution to strengthening the working people's organizations in every way and prepare themselves to be competent political activists with high practical qualifications. -0-
