Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) -- The Korea Surim Trading Company in the DPRK developed a plant growth regulator, Surim 1.

This product helps promote the division of crops' cells and increase thousand-kernel weight. It is also extremely effective in making ears ripen earlier.

As it shortens the growing period of crops by over ten days, it is recognized as an organic compound essential for double cropping.

After the introduction of this regulator into various agricultural production units, it proved effective in ensuring the high and stable crop yields even on low-yielding fields and in preventing seedling blast, rice bacterial leaf blight, etc. To compare this regulator with other physiological activators, it was applied to rice, wheat and maize fields. It proved effective and superior in all the indices.
