Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Officials and primary information workers of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) from across the country made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from Feb. 24 to 29.

They visited Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs associated with activities of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners.

At Chairman Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they recollected the revolutionary career and exploits of the Chairman who was born as the son of Mt Paektu and made ceaseless journeys of devotion for the country.

The members of the study tour group climbed Mt Paektu, where they broke into cheers of excitement.

They toured the Mupho Bivouac, the Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site, etc. and arrived in Samjiyon City.

They held a meeting before the statue of Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City on Feb. 29 to renew their pledge to carry on the march started in Mt Paektu under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

During the tour, they had colorful political and cultural events, including a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read by them, a poem reciting meeting and a frontline-style political activities contest. -0-
