Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- DPRK weightlifters returned home on May 22 after taking part in the 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships.

At the weightlifting championships held in India, they bagged 18 gold medals, 11 silver medals and a bronze medal, 30 medals in total, and set eight new world records and ten new Asian records.

The proud weightlifters, who returned home after flying high the flags of the DPRK before the world, were warmly greeted by officials in the field of sports, officials concerned and families at Pyongyang Railway Station.

Sportspersons congratulated the players and coaches on their successes, putting garlands around their necks and presenting bouquets to them. -0-
