Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Universities and colleges in the field of training teachers in the DPRK are now assessing the teaching ability of students of graduating classes in their major fields.

Last year, the assessment of teaching ability was conducted in the form of contests, which was conducive to improving the teaching ability of students of graduating classes of universities of education and teacher training colleges.

On the basis of these successes and experience, the universities and colleges in the field of training teachers have included the assessment of the teaching ability in the curriculum and substantially stepped up its preparations.

The students of graduating classes participate in the assessment with teaching plans they have worked out and teaching means including teaching media and displaying devices they have prepared by making use of experience gained during the course of education training at schools.

Teachers of the universities and colleges held a joint review meeting with students on excellent lecture videos, improving their teaching ability in conformity with the requirements of the Party's policies and the pedagogical demand. -0-
