Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of Education in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the plans for carrying out the tasks facing the educational sector in the second half of the year.
In order to implement the senior middle school selective curriculums under the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme to be enforced in a comprehensive way next year, it worked out a plan to lead the units which are now executing those curriculums on a trial basis.
It also planned the work to hold training courses and demonstrations in provinces, cities and counties, the work to enhance the role of teachers and instructors at training centers at all levels so as to reduce the difference in educational levels between the capital and regions and between urban and rural areas, and the work to build up the ranks of teachers well and improve their teaching and practical qualifications and abilities.
The educational sector is seeking ways to fulfill its responsibility and duty in strengthening the educational foundations of the country.
The goals for guiding and helping universities, which play a big role in training talents needed in various sectors and solving key scientific and technological problems in the economic development of the country, are being set and concrete proposals discussed and decided.
