Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm Inaugurated in DPRK

Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- The Jikha Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm was inaugurated in North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.

The construction of the pedigree farm with all conditions including office building, hatching and fry breeding grounds laid another material and technical foundation for breeding Atlantic salmons more actively on the east coast of the country.

Its inauguration ceremony took place on Friday.

Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Pak Myong Ho, chairman of the North Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned, officials of the provincial fishery management bureau, and officials and employees of the pedigree farm.

Song Chun Sop, minister of Fisheries, addressed the ceremony.

He called upon the officials and employees of the farm to devote their wisdom and enthusiasm to bringing about a great turn in the development of the country's fish farming, with the pride of working at the pedigree farm built under the care of the motherly Workers' Party of Korea.

That day, members of the mobile artistic motivation teams of Chongjin and Kim Chaek fishery stations gave a performance in celebration of the inauguration of the farm. -0-
