Measures Taken to Improve Quality Control in Construction Control Sector of DPRK

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The construction control sector of the DPRK is taking measures to improve the quality control.

The Ministry of State Construction Control is directing efforts to perfecting the system of construction control and making the construction units observe the requirements of the Workers' Party of Korea's construction policy and laws and regulations.

The ministry, which has newly examined and completed the "quality assessment and review regulations of construction" and "regulations for evaluation of construction control", issued them to the construction units and supervisory organizations and urged them to apply to the improvement of quality in construction and supervisory work. It also organized the rapid dissemination of construction laws and regulations through mobile networks to make all the inspectors and surveyors observe the regulations for quality control.

The ministry also urged the inspectors involved in important construction projects to carry the guide to the main construction control and inspection and the guide to the procedure and methods of processes to discharge their duties with a sense of responsibility.

A climate has been established that inspectors and surveyors have acquainted themselves with the whole courses of constructions on the spots on the basis of construction standard and the guides related to the relevant construction and have conducted the quality assessment according to the process.

The ministry makes sure that the inspectors review the state of the quality assurance weekly and monthly and according to processes to guarantee the quality of the construction.

The quality control committee is under operation at the construction sites of the 50 000 flats in Pyongyang and other major construction sites and the demonstration has been conducted before carrying out all the processes. -0-
