Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Ryanggang Province in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the efforts to create raw material bases.

Unhung County is conducting a mass campaign to raise fertility of soil on the basis of the results of analysis of soils of all the fields.

Through a passing-on-technique and a demonstration, Kapsan County produced far more carbonated self-sufficing manure, which is efficacious for increasing fertility of soil, than last year and applies fertilizing method in a scientific way so as to provide the crops and wild fruit trees with the conditions good for their growth.

Officials and working people in the county of Pochon turned hundreds of hectares of land into raw material bases through a movement for the cultivation of new land.

Samjiyon City conducted the research into the method of cultivating blueberry saplings, laying a foundation for growing lots of high-yielding saplings with strong adaptability. And Paegam County provided a guarantee for boosting the per-hectare yield of sugar beets.

Kim Hyong Jik County, too, secured seeds of raw material crops which grow well in the local climatic and soil conditions and introduced advanced cultivation methods to ensure the normal operation of the newly-built regional-industry factories. -0-
