Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- The university students' sports games of Pyongyang Municipality took place at the Taekwon-Do Hall on Thursday, the Youth Day.

Among the spectators were Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials of the youth league and university students here.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a speech.

The team of Kim Il Sung University beat the team of Kim Chaek University of Technology in the men's volleyball finals.

Then, colorful amusement games were held amid the competitive spirit and enthusiasm of players and fans.

The finals of tug-of-war between the teams of Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology revved up the atmosphere of the hall.

The games ended with a demonstration of the Taekwon-Do instructors group of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee.

At the end of the games, the total standings were announced and commendations were awarded to the units which proved successful at the games. -0-
