International Children's Day Marked by Children with Disability in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- A meeting of children with disability took place at the gymnasium of the extracurricular sports school in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang on Monday to mark the June 1 International Children's Day.

Present there were Jon Chol Hi, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled, officials concerned, children with disability, children of Tongmun Kindergarten No. 2 in Taedonggang District, nurses, kindergarten teachers and parents.

A speech was made by Song Hyang Chun, head of the Korean Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disability, followed by an art performance of disabled children and kindergarteners.

Put on the stage were small choruses "The day when the Marshal came is a happy holiday" and "Twinkling small stars" and other numbers. The performers expressed joy and optimism of the bright and happy children growing up under the warm love and meticulous care of the motherly Workers' Party of Korea.

And cheerful and high-spirited children competed in the sports and amusement games amid their parents' enthusiastic cheers, adding to the pleasure of the holiday. -0-
