Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The 13th National Cooking Competition took place at the Pyongyang Noodle House from February 4 to 7 on the occasion of the greatest auspicious February holiday of the nation (the birth anniversary of Chairman
The competition was held divided into the sector of ministries and national institutions, the sector of the Guidance Bureau of Public Catering Service, the public catering sector in Pyongyang Municipality and provinces (municipalities) and the sector of the external service.
There took place a technical contest for making various kinds of dishes and drinks including national dishes, famous dishes exhibition, demonstration and instant dish contest.
Cooks and waitresses of Okryu Restaurant, Chongryu Restaurant, Rungna Restaurant, Phyongchon District General Restaurant and Moranbong District General Restaurant and other restaurants displayed high skills they have trained in the course of public catering activities.
The organizations of South Hamgyong, South Hwanghae, South Phyongan, North Hamgyong and North Phyongan provinces were highly appreciated at the famous dishes exhibition and cooks of the Taedonggang District General Restaurant, the Changgwang Public Service Management Office and the Pyongyang Noodle House showed their special skills at the instant dish contest, revving up the atmosphere of the contest.
Present at a closing ceremony held on February 7 were Minister of Commerce Kim Yong Sik who doubles as chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Association of Cooks, Ri Yong Min, director of the Guidance Bureau of Public Catering Service, officials concerned, cooks and waitresses.
The results of the jury were announced and diplomas, medals and certificates were awarded to the excellent organizations and cooks. -0-
