Transport Capability Increased in Coal Mines of South Phyongan Province

Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- Coal mines in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK are pushing ahead with the work to increase the transport capability.

The February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine concentrated forces and means on building hundreds of meters-long main belt conveyor of Pit No. 9 while speeding up the technical upgrading of the overall transport system.

The operation of belt conveyor transport system began after the project was completed in a little more than a month as the advanced blasting and tunneling methods to suit different rock conditions were introduced and the transport and installing of equipment propelled.

The Chonsong Youth Coal Mine and the Ryongdae Youth Coal Mine are pushing ahead with the projects for increasing the coal transport capacity while supplying enough materials.

The Wolbong Coal Mine is carrying on a project to increase the amount of coal transport by belt conveyor. -0-
