Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Preparations for the new school year are underway in different parts of the DPRK.

Cities and counties strive to provide schools with necessary conditions, given that a new educational programme is to be applied to the primary and secondary education from this year.

Songyo District of Pyongyang Municipality works hard to introduce more technical subjects into the schools in the district.

The district made sure that the schools select technical subjects which reflect the regional economic and geographical characteristics.

Changsong County of North Phyongan Province has chosen subjects with the main emphasis on farming and stockbreeding and directed big efforts to the preparations for training teachers.

It trained more teachers by appointing graduates from Changsong College of Technology as teachers.

It has taken measures to improve the qualifications of teachers by enlisting them in the online education network and pushed ahead with improving the qualifications of all teachers in the county.

Pyoksong County of South Hwanghae Province has introduced many technical subjects suited to the characteristics of rural areas and pushed ahead with laying a foundation for experiment and practice.

The preparations for the new school year are brisk in different parts of the country thanks to officials' attention and guidance. The preparations for teaching at schools are progressing at the final stage. -0-
