It was the third Sunday in September Juche 58 (1969).

President Kim Il Sung called an official early in the morning to inspect several units in Kangso, Ryonggang and Onchon areas.

Hoping that the President would rest himself for a while as he had done his work till late at night for several days, the official asked him to start his inspection in the afternoon.

The President said that the official had not yet understood his mind, though working together for more than ten years. Noting that he had never been at home on Sundays, he stressed that it is his desire to make field survey even on Sunday so as to learn about the reality and meet the people and that nothing is more satisfactory than to do so on Sunday and it is just his rest.

Then, he left Pyongyang to inspect Chongsan-ri, Okdo-ri and different units in Onchon County and meet inhabitants there all day long.

And he spent the night of that day writing a lecture to be given before officials of the Party and state organs on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Indeed, the President was the benevolent father of the people who devoted himself to the wellbeing of the people. -0-
