One day in July Juche 107 (2018), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected the construction sites in Samjiyon City of Ryanggang Province.

An official of the province told Kim Jong Un that the province was planning to renovate Hyesan Teachers Training College.

The General Secretary told the officials accompanying him that if the Party's policy for making all the people well versed in science and technology is to be thoroughly implemented, the provinces should train many talents by developing education. He said that talents are an asset of the country and an importance resource guaranteeing the development of all the provinces, cities and counties.

Just as potato farming, the training of talented personnel should be put on a scientific and intensive basis so that the provinces can produce many competent persons in a short span of time, he said, urging the provinces to put the teacher-training system at the teachers training colleges on a scientific and IT basis and introduce the advanced education methods based on originality and Juche character so as to train excellent teachers.

He stressed that the provinces should be responsible for improving the work of all regional educational institutions, adding that educational work should be regarded as an important criterion in evaluating each province's work.
