Paektusan Institute of Architecture

Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- Many creations representing the rapid development of Juche-oriented architecture have appeared in the DPRK where a new era of the people-first architecture was ushered in.

Each monumental edifice is associated with the painstaking efforts of designers, architects and researchers of the Paektusan Institute of Architecture that has grown into a prestigious research group for architectural creation and led the architectural development of the country.

One day in March 2017, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the institute and noted that its designers, architects and researchers had created lots of architectural masterpieces of national treasure on the highest level over the past years. And he said that the institute is a competent and reliable design group and a model and standard of the architectural design units in the country.

That day he set forth important tasks to be regarded as guidelines in the work of the institute, saying that its duty is very important.

Keeping deep in their mind the instructions of Kim Jong Un, the designers, architects and researchers of the institute have devoted their wisdom and enthusiasm to creating new architectural styles reflecting socialist civilization and the people's ideals and dreams in their designs.

The Sci-Tech Complex, the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort, the Songdowon International Children's Camp, modern apartment houses built in different parts of the capital city, and orphanages, baby homes, primary and secondary schools for orphans across the country are an outcome of the creative thinking and enthusiasm of officials, designers, architects and researchers of the institute.

The institute presented books on architectural technology, articles on architectural science and theory and national design standards and pushed ahead with the work to put the architectural designing on a modern and scientific basis. And it has introduced the research findings into reality to contribute to the development of the country's architectural science. -0-
