Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Observed in Russia

Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Celebrations were held by the Khabarovsk Youth Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Primorsky Krai Branch of the All-Russia War Veterans' Social Organization "Militant Fraternity" and the Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the DPRK in the Republic of Buryatia on August 14 and 15 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation. They included seminar and photo exhibition.

Speeches were made at the events attended by personages and other masses of relevant units.

The chairman of the Khabarovsk Youth Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, the chairman of the Primorsky Krai Branch of the All-Russia War Veterans' Social Organization "Militant Fraternity", the chairman of the Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the DPRK in the Republic of Buryatia and other speakers said that August 15 this year marking the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation when Korea was liberated from the colonial rule of Japan is a very significant day for not only the Korean people but also the Russian people.

Referring to the historic and world historic significance of Korea's liberation, they said that the traditions of militant friendship, friendship and cooperation between the two countries forged during the anti-Japanese war are still being carried forward.

The Russia-DPRK friendly relations have been further consolidated and developed into the invincible alliance as the combat sub-units of the armed forces of the DPRK participated in the operations for liberating the Kursk area, they noted.
