Natural History Museum

Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Many schoolchildren and working people visit the Natural History Museum at the foot of picturesque Mt Taesong in Pyongyang.

The museum has halls dealing with knowledge about outer space, Paleozoic era, Mesozoic era, Cenozoic era, fauna and flora. Visitors are acquiring comprehensive knowledge of animals and plants.

The museum, built for cultural and leisure activities and peculiar education, is associated with the guidance of the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un for enabling our people to acquire richer knowledge.

On May 20, 2016, the General Secretary visited the Natural History Museum nearing completion. At that time he said that the museum was built as another peculiar educational base and cultural recreation ground for youth and students and working people.

Noting that the museum would tangibly contribute to the education of schoolchildren and students and working people and scientific research, he gave instructions to further spruce up the museum on the principle of scientific accuracy, practicality and kindness.

The museum has added more than 1 000 video clips and hundreds of pieces of academic data to its database in recent years. Over 360 stuffed animal specimen of 158 species were also newly displayed.

Employees of the museum are working hard to discover more secrets of nature and provide visitors with richer knowledge. -0-
