Foundation Day of Korea Marked

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- The Foundation Day of Korea was commemorated with an event at the Mausoleum of King Tangun on October 3.

Present there were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Kim Myong Hun, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials of the Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, officials concerned and working people in Pyongyang.

First there was an ancestral rite for Tangun.

Hwang Kwang Il, director of the Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, made a report.

Saying that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the reconstruction of the Mausoleum of King Tangun as a monumental edifice in the era of the Workers' Party, the reporter praised President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il as peerless patriots and peerlessly great sages who glorified the time-honored history and tradition of the Korean nation.

The 5 000-year national history and precious cultural heritages are shedding more brilliant rays along with the era of our state-first principle thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, he added. -0-
