National Exhibition of Plants Closes in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- The national exhibition of plants, "2024 Plants in DPRK", closed with due ceremony at the Central Botanical Garden on Oct. 15.

On display at the exhibition, divided into sections of successes and special and rare plants, were rare and special plant species and pot plants and achievements made in forestry science and technology.

During the exhibition, there were a symposium on the theme of study of touristic features of the forests in Samjiyon City and a sci-tech presentation.

Present at the closing ceremony were Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk, Minister of Urban Management Im Kyong Jae and other officials concerned, scientists, technicians and field officials.

Highly appreciated at the ceremony were Kangwon, North Hamgyong and South Phyongan provinces, which have distinguished themselves in protecting and propagating the country's plant resources, breeding plant species and developing their cultivation techniques as well as in afforestation and protection and greening.
