Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Amid the struggle for securing a clear practical guarantee for carrying out the five-year plan, a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of Ichon Army-People Power Station No. 2 took place in Kangwon Province of the DPRK on Tuesday.
The construction of another power station with a large capacity in the Rimjin River basin will provide more electricity needed by the industrial establishments and residents in the province.
Present at the ceremony were Kim Myong Chol, secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, builders and working people.
Ri Sang Chol, vice-chairman of the Kangwon Provincial People's Committee, made an address to be followed by speeches.
Speakers called for completing the construction of the power station in the shortest time to bring about the economic development of the province and the well-being of its people by inheriting the tradition of patriotism and loyalty with which they have always responded to the call of the Party with perfect practice.
