Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace, a comprehensive extracurricular education base for schoolchildren and a "pedigree farm" for talent education, is located in the Mangyongdae area in Pyongyang.
The palace has all conditions and environment necessary for education including computer, calligraphy, kayagum and other hobby group rooms, theater, gymnasium and swimming pool at the highest level in keeping with the thematic and ideological content of the edifice depicting the embrace of the Workers' Party of Korea which Korean schoolchildren live.
Many schoolchildren have visited it every day and brought their talents into full bloom according to their hopes and aptitudes.
Over the past ten years since its reconstruction, more than 1.32 million schoolchildren have conducted extracurricular activities. In the course, thousands of talented reserve scientists, artistes and promising sportspersons including at least 1 400 holders of state technical and skill grades have been produced.
Members of hobby groups won four gold medals and two silver medals in the juvenile category of the 23rd Taekwon-Do World Championships and received a special prize at the 33rd International Festival of Child and Juvenile Art Works.
The palace, which was built in 1989, was further magnificently transformed in 2015.

He personally examined hundreds of pieces of layouts and frequently acquainted himself with the construction state and took benevolent measures.
When he looked round the remodeled palace, he gave instructions that would serve as guidelines in management and operation.
Seeing the bright laughter and growth process of the members of the hobby groups, the teaching staff of the palace recollect with deep emotion the leadership exploits of the respected fatherly Marshal left in the palace. -0-
