Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- Sports games of commanding officers of the Korean People's Army (KPA) took place on February 8.

Among the spectators were No Kwang Chol, Jong Kyong Thaek, Ri Yong Gil and other commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence, military and political commanding officers of KPA units at all levels and service personnel.

The sports games took place, divided into the Kumgangsan Team and the Ryongaksan Team.

First, there was a volleyball game between the teams.

In the repeated offensive and defensive battles the Ryongaksan Team defeated the Kumgangsan Team 2:0.

Then followed kyoksul (a Korean martial art) and demonstration show of KPA combatants.

There also took place various amusement games including hurdle-overcoming and crossword puzzle.

The Kumgangsan Team defeated the Ryongaksan Team in the tug of war.

The Ryongaksan Team won in the total points. -0-
